Birchbox and Glossybox

Birchbox
Glossybox
I recently purchased a Birchbox as a little treat to myself. I wanted some new  beauty things that would  maybe help me to branch into different brands that I haven't tried but then someone commented on my facebook recommending the Glossybox, which I also bought so that I could do a comparison post :)

Packaging wise I think I prefer the Glossybox because it's a lovely box and the products were wrapped up inside it but I also like the little drawstring bag you get inside the Birchbox.

I feel like I got more for my money with the glossybox, but then I guess it's just down to preference on the products inside. I loved all the products I got in both boxes but I was won over by a lovely essie nail polish in the Glossybox!

The nail polish is a lovely coral-pink colour and it is called cute as a button. It needs a couple of layers if you want it to be completely opaque but it is worth the extra time because the results are worth it and the polish is actually really fast drying, an extra bonus with me!

Glossy box also sent me a sample of a perfume which I really like and am thinking about buying for myself, it is called So Elixir and it's just a nice, fresh smelling perfume.

I also received a "Nip and Fab Coconut Latte Dry Skin Fix Body Butter" and I love it so much, I have dry skin and it its so nice to put this on after coming out the shower, it just makes my skin feel super hydrated and soft!

From the Birchbox my favourite thing was a lip product from Mirenesse called glossy kiss. It's very sheer but I like that you can build up colour. This is something that you can wear if you don't want a really dramatic lip colour.

Another product from the Birchbox that i am enjoying is a "thickening Mist" for hair by Nick Chavez. My hair is always really thin and straggly but after a couple of times using this I have noticed a slight difference, obviously nothing dramatic but it's still worth using!

Those were some of my favourites and I will probably continue to buy a glossybox monthly, I recommend highly recommend it to anyone wishing to sample new beauty products!

That's me done rambling :)

Goodbye for now! x

Where have I been?

I know, I know! I haven't posted anything lately -I'll give myself a little slap on the back of the hand- I just have not had any motivation to do a post. I am back now though and ready to review some stuff and I also have some cool websites to share with you! Including my own~ Yes, my very own website, which I am in the process of designing right now.

Here's a cheeky preview...

My blog name will be changing to Batman Beauty soon!
Also keep an eye out for my April Favourites post to see all the products that I have been loving this month :)

That's all,
Goodbye for now!

Light Painting Photography

This post isn't really beauty related but I just wanted to share what me and my friend Robyn have been up to recently! Since Robyn is a photography student she has to do get a series of light painting images, and we've been going into Edinburgh so that she can get some images! If you would like to see more of her photography you can check out her blog: http://owlysphotographs.blogspot.co.uk/

What's in my make-up bag?

I have tonnes in my make-up bag and a lot of it I don't even wear anymore or it's just simply out of date! Does anyone else do this? I think I need to start clearing out the old stuff... The things pictured below are the products which I am currently using on a daily basis.

Thought I'd buy a new lipstick and it's a bright one! The brand is Maybelline New York and it is called "Shocking Coral" number 910, I've been loving the colour because it's a bit different from what I would usually wear. It isn't a matte lipstick, it has a bit of a gloss which is quite moisturizing. It's very pigmented and will go on everything!
